A night that should have been calm and peaceful turned into a harrowing ordeal as explosions were reported almost every 30 minutes since the first blast occurred.
Through a social media post, a woman known as Anisha Putri shared the harrowing experience she endured in the early hours in Bahrain.
“It has reached the point where sleeping tonight requires wearing an abaya. Protect and safeguard us, O Allah,” she wrote, illustrating the fear and apprehension that compelled her to sleep in a state of readiness.
According to her, as of 2:44 a.m. local time yesterday, the explosions were still intermittently audible.
“Almost every 30 minutes from the first explosion until now, 2:44 a.m. Bahrain time, the blasts can still be heard,” she detailed.
She further noted that the incident appeared to be in close proximity to Bahrain International Airport, as police sirens had been continuously active since the onset of the explosions.
“It seems to be very close to Bahrain International Airport, as police sirens have not stopped. I just saw an explosion right behind the airport area,” she shared.
Amid the tense atmosphere, Anisha reflected poignantly on the value of serenity, a blessing often taken for granted.
“Being able to sleep peacefully without disruption is truly a form of blessing that cannot be measured in material wealth,” she remarked.
At 2:30 a.m., she was once again awakened by the blaring warning sirens.
